The ministry of Justice has had many initiatives over the years to digitalize its processes and make them available online, as much to the citizen than for internal use by the court officers and legal partners. The pandemic has forced the ministry to commit to creating digital solutions for internal and external use. Because many of the processes have never been implemented as digital solutions, the challenge at hand is to design systems that will be well received by users that are accustomed to physical documents, forms and human interaction.

• Analyzed court registry administrative processes to identify usability gaps and opportunities for digitizing judicial procedures.
• Reframed traditional justice workflows into digital-first service models aligned with legal constraints to improve user comprehension.

Freelancing for many years gave me the opportunity to work with both clients and
suppliers. This has given me the ability to manage projects because of my
understanding of the different stages a project goes through, from start to publishing.

My tasks mainly revolved around the system being used to manage quality issues on our production line. Leading weekly conference calls with an offshore team to understand problems and system limitations, I had to produce a report and put in place a plan to resolve raised issues. Monthly trips to the US for special projects or “crunch time” were also part of my job description.
